Job Title: Desktop Support Intern
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Director of Information Technology

General Summary: Provide technical assistance to end users of company hardware and software resources.       

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
A PC support technician is responsible for assisting with installing, maintaining and troubleshooting all computer hardware and software within an organization.

ESSENTIAL DAY TO DAY FUNCTIONS:

•    Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting all computer hardware and software  
•    Smartphone setup and maintenance    
•    Internet browser setup
•    Equipment research
•    Maintaining company intranet site
•    Printer installation and maintenance
•    General desktop support

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION  

•    A+ certification desired
•    Hands on experience with Windows operating systems

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•    Must be versed in Dell desktops/laptops is desired
•    Must have the ability to multi-task, excellent phone skills, negotiating skills, technical writing skills, order specification writing and organizational skills.  

LANGUAGE SKILLS

•    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents.  Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from our user/customer base.  Ability to use clear, concise written communication.

REASONING ABILITY

•    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Lifting Demands:
    Lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to chest.
    Lift up to 35 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to waist.
    Carry up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 25 feet.
